Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>English Premier League (EPL) club Southampton has sacked team manager, Ralph Hasenhu\u0308ttl, following a 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle.<\/p>\n

Southampton is 18th in the Premier League table having lost six of its last nine games.<\/p>\n

The 55-year-old Austrian was appointed coach in 2018 and managed to maintain the club\u2019s status in the English top flight for four consecutive seasons.<\/p>\n

His tenure will also be remembered for two 9-0 losses \u2014 at home to Leicester in October 2019 and at Manchester United in February 2021. A club statement read:<\/p>\n

Southampton Football Club can confirm it has parted company with Men\u2019s First Team Manager Ralph Hasenhu\u0308ttl.<\/p>\n

First Team Assistant Coach Richard Kitzbichler has also today left the club.<\/p>\n

Hasenhu\u0308ttl, who was appointed in December 2018, departs having made a significant contribution to the club, overseeing some memorable results and also playing a key role in the development of our club infrastructure, identity and playing squad.<\/p>\n

However, we now believe it is an appropriate time to make a change.<\/p>\n

Everyone involved with the club would like to express their sincere thanks to Ralph for all of his efforts, as well as the unwavering commitment he has shown throughout his time as manager.<\/p>\n

First Team Lead Coach Rube\u0301n Selle\u0301s will take charge of the side on an interim basis for our game on Wednesday night. The club will be announcing a permanent replacement in due course.<\/p>\n
