Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Chimurenga musician Thomas \u201cMukanya\u201d Mapfumo<\/b> has postponed the release of his new album due to logistical challenges.<\/p>\n

The album was recorded in South Africa last year and the initial release date of the album was 20 January 2023.<\/p>\n

Mapfumo (77), appealed to his fans for patience as the album, whose title is yet to be announced, is finalised.<\/p>\n

In a video posted on Twitter over the weekend, Mukanya expressed optimism the end product will meet his fans\u2019 expectations. He said:<\/p>\n

We were supposed to release a new album on 20 January, but due to some logistical challenges, we were unable.<\/p>\n

Mukanya did not reveal when the new album will be launched after the latest setback.<\/p>\n

He said the songs were recorded in South Africa and still need mixing \u201cso that we produce quality music.\u201d Said Mapfumo:<\/p>\n

Chimurenga music is here to stay as it promotes and protects Zimbabwe\u2019s rich cultural and traditional heritage.<\/p>\n

Once the affected songs have been attended to, we will release the album. We do not want our fans to hear substandard music.<\/p>\n

We want them to listen to our true and original Chimurenga music which is anchored on our culture and Ubuntu.<\/p>\n

The album is coming. We want you to enjoy it.<\/p>\n
