Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>THE Health and Child Care ministry has introduced the Impilo Electronic Health Records (EHR) system in a move aimed at transforming patient care, particularly in rural areas.<\/p>\n

Director for health informatics and data analysis, Simukai Zizhowa, said the initiative marked a significant step towards digital solutions in the country\u2019s medical sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe implementation of the Impilo EHR system is a major milestone for Zimbabwe\u2019s healthcare sector. By embracing digital solutions, we are ensuring that even those in rural communities receive high quality and efficient healthcare services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis system not only improves efficiency, but also ensures that healthcare workers have accurate information at their fingertips, enabling them to provide better care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Health experts said the system has a potential to transform the healthcare landscape in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

A representative from OPHID Trust, a partner organisation, said: \u201cThe Impilo EHR system is more than just a data tool; it\u2019s a game-changer that will improve patient care and reduce administrative burdens for healthcare workers, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for all Zimbabweans.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we continue to integrate digital solutions, we anticipate a stronger healthcare system that is equipped to meet the needs of communities, especially in underserved rural areas.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Impilo EHR system, designed to streamline healthcare services, allows medical professionals to efficiently store and access patient information, improving accuracy in diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>\n

The new digital platform is expected to bring significant improvements to Zimbabwe\u2019s rural healthcare facilities, which often face challenges with record-keeping and resource allocation.<\/p>\n
