Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A MEMBER of the Central Intelligence Organisation has appeared at the Harare Magistrates Courts facing kidnapping and armed robbery charges.<\/p>\n

Cleopas Charuka (34) appeared Tuesday before Harare magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa, who remanded him to on November 11 on US$200 bail.<\/p>\n

For the prosecution, Mercy Masamvi alleged that on July 28 this year, Charuka was driving a Honda fit motor along Mbuya Nehanda Street in Harare when he hit the complainant with his vehicle.<\/p>\n

He proposed to take him to ZRP Harare Central to make a report.<\/p>\n

However, instead of driving to the police station, Charuka drove to his office at Charter House along Samora Machel Avenue, where he and his suspected accomplice, Rimawo Rimayi, allegedly took turns to assault the complainant with open hands, fists and wooden sticks.<\/p>\n

Charuka drew a gun and threatened to shoot the complainant before dispossessing him of US$60, the court heard.<\/p>\n
