Africa-Press – Angola. Companies linked to the most diverse segments of agriculture present at the 37th edition of the Luanda International Fair are making the most of the event to strengthen partnerships and show their potential.

This is the case of Multialto, linked to the sale of tractors, implements, carts and seeders. According to the administrative technician, Petércio Manuel, who is in charge of the stand at FILDA, this year the company presents a coffee harvester to customers.

Called “Coffe Express”, self-propelled model, the machine facilitates selective harvesting, preserving the longevity of the plant.

“The machine is versatile and agile in harvesting in the most diverse conditions, and given its specificity, it adapts easily to our soils”, he pointed out.

Based in Luanda, the company has been in the market since 2006, but sells its machines to the most diverse farms in the country.

In turn, Omarf, also specialized in the commercialization of agricultural tractors, is at the fair to show potential buyers the strengths of the “Solsis” brand, which with its different types guarantees good farming.

Mário Ribeiro, director for the company’s Marketing area, assured that the “20” horse model, which costs 8 million kwanzas, the unit, is adaptable to the country’s weather conditions, and is the most cheap.

“This brand has a high level of productivity and functionality on several levels. The tractor offers operational performance, and is equipped with comfortable features that are easy to use for all weather conditions”, he underlined, after stressing that the 110 horsepower model costs 26 million kwanzas.

The family business, which has been in the market for 10 years, and which is located in the Industrial Complex of Viana, in Lu-anda, has an annual turnover of 200 million kwanzas. In addition to marketing, the firm with around 20 employees provides technical assistance throughout the country.

More Fertilizers

The company Anfeng won the public tender that the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA) carried out, which aims to make fertilizers available for the next Agricultural Year.

On the market for a year, the company is at FILDA to show family farms and producers the most diverse qualities of fertilizers and pesticides available.

According to the company’s Commercial Director, Lukimueni André Garcia, the Luanda International Fair is being a vehicle for publicizing the various products available in its portfolio.

“We sell the 12/24/12 fertilizer, which is much sought after by producers, and which has been in great demand, because of the prices we practice on the market”, he pointed out.

Zimbabweans Bet On The Market

From next year, the Zimbabwean company Seed-Co will start producing improved seeds, with emphasis on maize, soybeans, beans, wheat, sorghum and vegetables.

The project will be developed in the provinces of Huíla, Malanje and Cuanza-Norte, where the agricultural firm has a global area of approximately 4,000 hectares.

The company’s Production Director, James James, said that around US$5 million is being invested to implement the project, over a period of five years.

The company, which has been in the Angolan market since 2020, bet on hybrid seeds because they are adaptable to the Angolan climate and have a high level of productivity. For each hectare, he said, the farmer can harvest up to 16 tons of corn (yellow and white).

“We are here at FILDA making many partnerships with agricultural customers, interested in developing their projects with improved seeds”, he stressed, after explaining that the seeds are adaptable to the Angolan climate, which presents “excellent” conditions.

In September, the company plans to train 10 Angolan agronomists, who will receive specific training for three months in Zimbabwe.

The installation of a factory with the capacity to process 2,000 tons of improved seed is also in the works.

Currently, the company sells seeds on farms and producers in the provinces of Benguela, Cuanza-Sul and Norte, Malanje, Uíge and Bengo.
