Petro-1º de Agosto B warm up the semi-finals of the Women's National

Africa-Press – Angola. The challenge between Petro de Luanda and 1º de Agosto B is the main “menu dish” of the semi-finals of the 43rd edition of the National Senior Women’s Handball Championship, today at 18:00, at the Multipurpose Pavilion of Nossa Senhora do Monte, in the city of Lubango, province of Huíla, which also includes the no less succulent 1º de Agosto A-Maculusso, scheduled for 16:00.

Two matches awaited with great anticipation by fans of the sport, eager to witness a handball of refined technical quality, as the four teams will do their best to reach the final and, consequently, win the so ambitious trophy of the 2022 season.

For now, games of divided favoritism are foreseen, although the balance tends more towards Petro de Luanda and 1º de Agosto A. The coach of 1º de Agosto B, João Diogo “Docas”, said that the objective of reaching the semi-finals came to fruition. “Now we have to keep fighting, to see if we get as far as possible. We will play with Petro de Luanda, one of the best clubs in Africa. So it won’t be easy,” he acknowledged.

The coach promises that the team will seek to dignify the show and win the game. “We know that the game depends a lot on the spirit of each athlete and, if they keep motivated, we can dream and win”, he guaranteed.

Edgar Neto, assistant tricolor coach, said that the team took advantage of the break to improve the aspects in which it failed in the games already played and will enter the game calmly, with the aim of reaching the final and revalidating the title, without despising the opponents.

Belchior Camuanga, assistant coach of 1º de Agosto A, guaranteed the team’s readiness.

“We are prepared for any opponent.” The coach of Desportivo Maculusso, Kátia dos Santos, recognizes the opposite power, but dreams of the final. “The first objective is accomplished. Now we will continue to fight to maintain the fourth position of the last edition or improve”.

Even today, Sporting de Cabinda and Sporting de Moçâmedes play for the 9th to 10th place at 10:00 am. Progresso and Electro do Lobito, at 12:00, decide the 7th position, and at 14:00, Sporting de Luanda and Casa Personal do Porto do Lobito dispute the fifth place.

Yesterday’s results: Group B: Sporting de Moçâmedes- Casa Pessoas do Porto do Lobito (19-41), Electro do Lobito- ENDE Huíla (31-14), 1º de Agosto A -Sporting Cabinda (37-9), Sporting de Luanda- 1º de Agosto B (24-8), Maculusso-Progresso (37-15).
