Africa-Press – Angola. The Kibabo Group intends, by the end of this year, to have a total of 40 units in the province of Luanda and more than 2,000 direct jobs, according to data shared by management on the occasion of the opening of store 32, located in the Urban District of Ingombota, with which generated 50 new jobs.
The chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kibabo Group, Pedro Mateus, also reaffirmed the intention to start the process of opening stores in other provinces of the country from 2023, starting in Benguela.
“This store has provided residents of the District of Ingombota with quality services and a different way of life compared to other supermarkets. Before shopping, you can have a coffee in our cafeteria”, he said.
The administrator of the Urban District of Ingombota, Paulo Furtado, said that the Kibabo Group bets a lot on national production, which represents a great achievement and a reason for great joy.
“We encourage them to continue to invest in this segment, as it will generate continuous growth and an increasing bet on the country’s development,” he said.
The store, according to the official, will make a big difference to the residents of the Urban District of Ingombota in the area of food and non-food distribution with very competitive prices, hygiene and cleaning articles, butchers, bakeries, among others.
More Jobs
In addition to providing convenience and guaranteeing a more quality proximity trade, Ingombota’s mini-Kibabo guaranteed jobs to several young people.
Ervanda dos Santos said it was a great experience to work at Kibabo, because she never thought of dealing with the public one day.
“I am satisfied with this opening to employment, and the salary pays off, as it guarantees the sustenance and resolution of many personal and family situations”, she assumed.
Mário Segunda has his first job at Ingombota’s fourth “mini-Kibabo” store. Therefore, he is happy and available to always provide the best service. “I’m learning a lot from my colleagues, from in-house training to rehearsals to prepare for the opening. Everything is going well”, he said.
According to the young man, it was not easy to get the job. Once achieved, “I’ll do my best and grab it with both hands in order to achieve other goals”.
The store has a space of around 200 square meters and represents an investment of 100 million kwanzas. It is planned for the group’s anniversary on 22 November and the opening of the thirty-third store at a location to be indicated, still in the city of Luanda.
