Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, this Thursday congratulated the MPLA and President João Lourenço on their victory in the General Elections held on 24 August.
The congratulations are expressed in a message delivered this afternoon to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Angola, Gong Tao.
The Chinese ambassador also took the opportunity to speak about the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the most varied aspects, as well as the carrying out of high-level visits from Angola to China and vice versa.
Angola is one of China’s biggest trading partners in Africa, with a turnover of US$24.8 billion in 2010 alone.
