Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 1,050 domestic and international media professionals have registered in Luanda to cover the upcoming visit of Pope Leo XIV to Angola, scheduled for April 18th to the 21st.
The information was given by the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Caldas, during a press conference of the preparatory commission for the visit, held on Wednesday (15), in Luanda.
According to the official, 800 national professionals and 250 foreign professionals from 80 international media outlets are registered.
Regarding the accreditation process for professionals, the organization informed that the process continues.
Pope Leo XIV’s agenda during the four days of his visit to Angola includes a courtesy meeting with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, dialogue with representatives of civil society and the diplomatic corps, as well as a private meeting with the bishops.
Also on the papal agenda is the celebration of Holy Mass in the Kilamba central area in Luanda, the recitation of the Holy Rosary in Muxima, Icolo e Bengo province, and a trip to the city of Saurimo (Lunda-Sul), where he will visit a nursing home for the elderly, in addition to celebrating Holy Mass.
On his return to Luanda, the Pope will hold a meeting with bishops, priests, consecrated women and pastoral agents.
