The Blue Vólei Clube and Refriango Team teams will play the first match of the semi-finals of the Provincial Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship in Luanda, scheduled for the 25th of this month, at a place and time yet to be indicated, according to the president of Association (APVBL), Alberto Pascoal. The other challenge, also in the semi-finals, will pit the formations of Mente Activa and Kiluanje/Escorpions.
Yesterday, the APVBL manager said that he will meet today with the director of the Cidadela Desportiva Complex, in order to make the Main Pavilion available for the semi-finals and final matches.
“We need to occupy the playing field for two days to play the semi-finals and the final. As soon as we have some information about the dates and location, we will communicate properly”, explained Alberto Pascoal.
In the preliminary phase, played in three phases, Blue led the competition with 23 points, the result of ten victories, while Refriango, the fourth with 14 points, won five games and lost the same number of games. In the other semi-final, the second and third places in the preliminary round, Mente Activa and Kiluanje/Escorpions, will face each other.
With 25 points, Mente Activa won seven games, and ended the preliminary round with three defeats. In female, for the same round, the Instituto Superior Politécnico de Tecnologias e Ciência (ISPTEC) will play against Kiluanje/Escorpions and Blue Vólei Clube will face the Refriango Team.
ISPTEC consolidated the top of the ranking with 18 points. The higher education institution had six victories, against the five of Kiluanje/Escorpions, in the last position, with one victory and five defeats. With eight points, Blue finished in second place, totaling three triumphs and an equal number of defeats.
The final is scheduled for the 25th, according to Alberto Pascoal. In men’s, Petro de Luanda is the defending champion. In this edition, the oil workers are absent, and in women, ISPTEC is the holder of the trophy.
