Africa-Press – Angola. UNITA will be present on the 15th, at the inauguration ceremony of the new legislature, as well as participating in State institutions, guaranteed, Wednesday, in Luanda, its president Adalberto Costa Júnior.

In a press conference, the UNITA leader said that, after a deep dialogue and consultation in the 18 provinces, it was concluded that it could not be outside the State institutions.

Through delegations that worked with citizens and members of Angolan civil society on the country’s immediate challenges, he stressed that UNITA has and must participate in the construction of a true democratic and lawful State.

Depending on the councils, he agreed to develop a multiple democratic process with participation in state institutions, including taking office in the National Assembly and the mass struggle for the claim of citizenship rights.

Adalberto Costa Júnior said that UNITA will continue to fight with all its strength so that the legislature that starts tomorrow will be one of more democratization and citizen participation, through an agenda to make the functioning of local authorities in the country effective. With UNITA’s participation in state institutions, he stressed, Angolans will have equal treatment and the right to be heard in state media, as well as an end to impunity for those who repeatedly subvert the will of the people.

As of the new legislature, he reaffirmed, his party and partners (Project PRA-JA Servir Angola and the Democratic Bloc) will do everything to ensure that the election of the President of the Republic takes place directly and with the clarification of the separation and interdependence of powers. .

The leader of the second most voted party in the General Elections of 24 August said that the fight for the effective de-partisanship of the Public Administration, autonomous bodies and the judiciary is on the agenda.

Regarding the participation of citizens in the elections, Adalberto Costa Júnior said that UNITA and its partners reiterate their “sincere thanks to all the Angolan people for their participation in this electoral act”. He highlighted that the opposition parties are aware of the prevailing reality in Angola.
