The cultural movement Lev’Arte de Benguela promotes tomorrow, a night of poetry around the bonfire, at the school of the second cycle of secondary education “Santa Doroteia”, in Caponte, municipality of Lobito, inserted in the centenary of António Agostinho Neto, first President from Angola.

The announcement was made yesterday, by the institution’s coordinator, Rosa Lukanda, for whom the event aims to encourage the new generation to have a taste for reading.

“We are going to live in an environment of a lot of poetry, in addition to other works of art associated with national culture. Competitors will be open to declaiming the poetry of their own, but to give greater symbolism to the event, the organization guarantees surprise prizes for the five best works linked to the one who was the founder of the Nation”, he said.

The person in charge of Lev’Arte, in the province of Benguela, guarantees that academics linked to different areas of knowledge were invited to the activity, as well as politicians, traditional authorities, ecclesiastical entities and other figures from Lobitanga society, with solid knowledge of achievements carried out by the then President of Angola.

“In this ‘poetry around the fire’ movement, it will be a purely cultural night. In addition to literature, performing arts and other actions related to the lyrics, Neto’s life and work will be discussed. They will taste the ‘delicacies’ of the land, having for dessert the ginguba, sugarcane, sweet potato, banana, massaroca and other products grown in the backyards of our homes, in the ‘nakas’ and other agricultural lands of family support” , needed.

It should be remembered that Lev’Arte is a non-profit cultural movement of national scope, founded on July 20, 2006, in the capital city (Luanda). Its main objectives are to encourage writing and literature, in addition to harmonizing people’s behavior through art.
