Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cunene asked the new members of the Provincial Government to facilitate communication and the spirit of inter-help between the institutions, with a view to finding the best solutions to address the main problems of the population.

Gerdina Didalelwa said to the staff who assume public positions for the first time, that they have the confidence of the government, stressing that the oath taken must be converted into sufficient energy for the development of the province.

He said that the call to “work more and communicate better” must start from the authorities and extend to the various segments of society, in order to, together, achieve well-being.

He added, during the inauguration, on Tuesday, of provincial directors from different sectors, advisors and municipal administrators, that “the Government works like the human body, when one of the organs is affected, the whole organism is affected”.

Gerdina Didalelwa underlined, by the way, that “the failure of one results in a defect of all”. For this reason, she said, “we must always work in harmony, because our work also depends on the activities of others”.

The governor of Cunene warned that personal agendas should not overlap with government activities, taking into account that time passes quickly and the population wants solutions to their problems.

“This is a new stage, with its own challenges, that the province will face, with emphasis on the phenomenon of drought”, he stressed.

Social Infrastructures

With the implementation of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), the governor of Cunene said that she is confident in the creation of social infrastructure, with emphasis on schools, hospitals and others to accommodate various services.

Gerdina Didalelwa guaranteed that she will redouble her efforts to include more children in the education system. She said that, at the moment, Cunene province is implementing a series of projects to recover, expand and build new classrooms.

In the field of Health, the minister underlined the execution of projects to overcome the insufficiency of qualified technicians. “We have received several complaints about the poor provision of services in local hospitals, and we have to take immediate action”, guaranteed the governor.

As for the access roads, the governor promised to make an effort to create conditions for the circulation of people and goods. Gerdina Dida lelwa said that the city of Ondjiva needs more roads, since the state of the roads has caused constraints to motorists.
