The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, received, this Saturday, in audience, at the Presidential Palace, the heads of diplomacy of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Christophe Lutundula, and of the Republic of Rwanda, Vicent Biruta, with whom he analyzed the climate. of tension prevailing, at the moment, between the two countries.
“It would be even better to let us work, as you are the wisest, and when we have everything well prepared, we will inform you”, the DRC Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed to the press, at the end of the meeting, stressing that this was the advice they received from the Angolan statesman.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, who also participated in the hearing, clarified that the meeting with the President of the Republic aimed to outline the guidelines for subsequent work, with a view to finding solutions to the problem that opposes the two countries.
Tension between the DRC and Rwanda has increased in recent months, following the resumption, in March, of fighting between the DRC army and the M23 movement, which according to the Kinshasa authorities is supported by the neighboring country.
