Africa-Press – Angola. The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) dismantled, on Tuesday (01, in Luanda, a criminal association composed of four elements, which was dedicated to the theft and dismantling of vehicles.
According to the director of the Institutional Communication and Press Office of SIC/Luanda, Chief Superintendent Fernando de Carvalho, the four individuals, suspected of a series of crimes of theft and dismantling of vehicles, were detained by officers of the Department of Robbery and Theft of Vehicles (DRFV).
Fernando de Carvalho said that in the possession of the criminals, who were mainly operating in Luanda, a firearm and two magazines with four ammunition, a watch, a folder of documents, as well as a backpack with various vehicle accessories were seized.
He added that the leader of the group is of Nigerian nationality and has shops selling car parts in the Correios market, Urban District of Golf 1, and on Machado Saldanha Street, in Bairro Popular, despite being in an irregular migratory situation, for more of 11 years.
The leader of the group of criminals, according to Fernando de Carvalho, had the collaboration of one of his countrymen, who dismantled and sold the parts of the stolen vehicles.
The director of the Institutional Communication and Press Office of SIC/Luanda made it known that three national citizens were also arrested, who belonged to a group of criminals, composed of seven elements, four of whom were on the run, who were dedicated to thefts and qualified robberies, using firearms, since December 2, 2021, in the Dangereux district.
“The elements of this group of criminals pretended to be passengers and when they entered the vehicles they announced the robbery”.
