Africa-Press – Angola. The National Bank of Angola is holding, today and Thursday (3), in the province of Malanje, the “VI National Treasury Meeting”, a biennial event, which aims to address, with commercial banks and other national and foreign partners, topics related to the regulation, management procedures, circulation and processing of the circulating medium.

According to a note published on the BNA website, this activity, which will be guided by the deputy governor of the National Bank of Angola, Manuel Tiago Dias, will analyze the good practices implemented in the handling of cash, in order to ensure the quality and genuineness of the metallic notes and coins that are distributed to the public.

On the other hand, these technical meetings have also served to promote the exchange of experiences between the National Bank of Angola, the commercial banks and between them, in order to allow the standardization of procedures and actions that preserve the useful life of the banknotes, to satisfy the demand of society.

In 2020, Angola launched the new series of Kwanza in polymer banknotes (commonly plastic), and this major event will also address the experiences of countries that use this material.

Participating in this VI edition of the National Treasury Meeting, representatives of Banco de Portugal, Banco de Cabo Verde, Banco de Moçambique and Banco do Rwanda, German and North American companies involved in the manufacture of metallic notes and coins.
