Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan presidential couple, João Lourenço and Ana Dias Lourenço, gathered this Wednesday, in the garden of the Palácio da Cidade Alta, more than 250 children from various social strata with whom they celebrated an early Christmas.

The charity Christmas ceremony, part of the “Roda do Amor” platform, which this year is celebrated under the motto “It rotates without stopping, it only stops to give love”, is an initiative of the First Lady’s Office, like other events already carried out since 2017.

In the Jardim do Palácio, the presidential couple welcomed more than 250 children, many from homes and reception centers in the province of Luanda, including Missionárias sem Fronteiras (Minsfrom), Horizonte Azul and Kuzola.

The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and other members of the Angolan Executive joined the party.

At the opening of the ceremony, Ana Dias Lourenço called for love for one another, protection of the environment and continued compliance with the basic rules of prevention against Covid-19.

“I am happy and excited when the month of December arrives, because the party that I like the most takes place, which is the Christmas party of “Roda do Amor”, which brings together children from various centers and homes”, she said.

For this year, he admitted that he cannot have all the children of Angola in person, but referred that the event is taking place simultaneously in six provinces of the country, namely Bengo, Bié, Huíla, Cuanza Norte, Malanje and Namibe, where the wives of governors gathered a total of 1,100 children, in the “Roda do Amor” Christmas picture.

“I do this job with a lot of love and I am very happy”, reiterated the First Lady of the Republic of Angola.

The presidential couple offered a fraternization lunch, in addition to toys for the children present.

During the fraternization, the children made use of the swimming pool and the amusement park that was set up in the enclosure and of other means.

The children were also offered bags containing a book that portrays the principles of personal and home hygiene and a brochure containing the 11 commitments that the Government must prioritize to ensure that children are happy.

The “Wheel of Love” platform aims to intensify the “flame” of good feelings within hearts and celebrate the festive season with more hope, faith, resilience, love and a deep sense of gratitude to the great Angolan family.
