Africa-Press – Angola. The Ombudsman, Florbela Rocha Araújo, reiterated this Thursday, in Luanda, the institution’s commitment to the defense of citizens’ rights, freedoms and guarantees.

In an end-of-year message delivered this Thursday, Florbela Rocha Araújo reiterated these challenges, adding that the current mandate will be fulfilled with elevation, intensity and rigor.

Still in her speech, the Ombudsman condemned the attitudes of indifference, lack of commitment, acts of impunity, influence peddling, easy enrichment and the violation of a set of administrative principles contained in the Civil Service Law, which do not dignify as public workers.

In balance, Florbela Rocha Araújo highlighted the role that the Institution played this year, at national and international level, not only as director of the International Institute of Ombudsmen (IOI), but also as President of the Network of Ombudsmen of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).

In turn, the institution’s staff recognized the commitment of the holder in the complete fulfillment of her noble mission.

The meeting, which took place in the Amphitheater of the Palace of Justice, was attended by the Deputy Ombudsman, Aguinaldo Guedes Cristóvão, holders of management and leadership positions, representatives of provincial services and other officials and administrative agents of the Ombudsman’s Office.

During the year-end greetings ceremony, the Ombudsman also delivered honorable mentions to some employees of the institution for their work and dedication.
