Africa-Press – Angola. he Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior in Benguela mobilized eight thousand men from the different defense and security bodies, to ensure the before, during and after the festive season.
The information was advanced by the provincial delegate of MININT, Aristófanes dos Santos, during the act of launching the forces on the ground.
According to the official, these are staff from the public order police, Reaction and Patrolling Unit, Rapid Intervention, Border Guard, Investigation and Criminal Illicit, SME, Prison Services, Firefighters and Criminal Investigation Service, in addition to the men assigned to private security companies.
Aristófanes dos Santos informed that in this festive season and in the next year, the defense and security services will continue to guarantee the maintenance of order and public tranquility, through police presence in communities in municipalities, communes and neighbourhoods.
The delegate guaranteed that the MININT bodies will seek to improve and expand proximity techniques, strengthening the relationship of trust between the police and citizens, thus underpinning the feeling of security.
According to the official, the security forces and services have the difficult but noble task of guaranteeing the tranquility of the populations, as “there is no society without security”, he emphasized.
Aristófanes dos Santos announced that, from the point of view of criminality, 4,852 (-190) offenses were registered in the province from January to November this year.
He added that the crimes resulted in the arrest of 2,226 (-505) citizens, with 2,386 (-286) miscellaneous crimes having been clarified.
As for road accidents, there were 814 (-24) road accidents that caused 218 (+42) deaths and 968 (-66) serious and minor injuries.
Aristófanes dos Santos made it known that the SIC proceeded to open 1,643 cases, of which 496 with prisoners and 1,643 without prisoners, having been instructed and completed 823 cases sent to the court.
On the other hand, he referred that the Civil Protection and Fire Service registered 87 occurrences, with emphasis on 19 fires that caused material damage estimated at 24,837,000.00 kwanzas.
According to the delegate, these results clearly demonstrate how the security forces and services are committed to guaranteeing public order and tranquillity.
From the disciplinary point of view, 789 disciplinary investigation processes were opened, which culminated in 403 disciplinary processes of a different nature, involving officers, deputy chiefs and agents.
