Africa-Press – Angola. The UNITA party, in Huambo, has, since Friday, a new provincial secretary. He is Apolo Yakuvela, deputy and member of the Political Commission and the Standing Committee of the Party, who will henceforth direct political and party activities, replacing Navita Ngolo.
In the act of his presentation to the militants, the new secretary of UNITA in Huambo said that, firstly, he will find out how the basic structures are working and then hold a consultation meeting with members, militants, cadres, sympathizers and friends of the “Black Rooster” party.
Speaking to the press, Apolo Yakuvela said that UNITA in Huambo has several challenges, as the second largest political force in the opposition.
The new secretary of Galo Negro in Huambo was accompanied by the party’s general secretary, Álvaro Daniel Chikuamanga, who encouraged him to face up to the difficulties, finding solutions, “always based on the Party’s Statutes”.
After the courtesy meeting with the deputy governor of Huambo for the Infrastructure and Technical Services sector, Elmanos Inácio Francisco, on behalf of the governor Lotti Nolika, Álvaro Chikuamanga said that the new secretary arrives in Huambo province with the aim of to make its patriotic, social contribution and to raise the party’s flag wherever it may be.
In a mass meeting, Álvaro Chikuamanga asked the militants to collaborate with the provincial secretary in order to seek unity within the party.
The political leader said that it is necessary for the militants to bring constructive ideas to the new secretary and to know how to separate things when the matter is of an internal nature.
The outgoing secretary and deputy to the National Assembly, Navita Ngolo, said that she leaves Huambo with the feeling of having done her duty, above all because of having found a healthy institutional cooperation environment, which aimed to defend the improvement of the conditions of the region’s populations. of the Central Plateau, although there is still a long way to go, as he assured.
Albertina Navita Ngolo, who served as UNITA’s secretary in Huambo province for approximately two years, will now be vice-president of the Parliamentary Bench of this political force.
Apolo Yakuvela, born in the municipality of Cachiungo (Huambo), is a general in the reserve.
Prior to his appointment, he was vice-president of the National Jurisdictional Council of UNITA.
