Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Lunda Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, announced today, Monday, in Dundo, that the rehabilitation of the section that connects the commune of Camaxilo to the municipality of Lubalo, National Road 170, over a length of 177 kilometres, will start in 2023.

Looking ahead to the economic year 2023, Deolinda Vilarinho said that the contract also envisages the rehabilitation of 93 kilometers of the road section linking Lubalo to the Xinge commune, in the municipality of Capenda-Camulemba.

Of the ten municipalities that make up the province of Lunda Norte, Lubalo is the only one not connected by a paved road.

On the other hand, he informed that the completion, in July 2023, of the section Rio Lui/Xá-Muteba, Cangolo/Muamussada, Muamussada/Sapimbe and Sapimbe/Rio Tó, on National Road 2023, which connects the eastern region to the coast is expected. from the country.

He said that these were projects the execution of which was the responsibility of the Central Government, adding that more than 20 ravines were also planned for the year 2023, with emphasis on those at the Centrality of Mussungue and Avenida José Eduardo Dos Santos, in the municipality of Caungula.

Of the projects for which the Central Government is responsible, there is also the effective start of works on the future General Hospital of Dundo, with more than 200 beds, which will have special services such as hemodialysis, mammography and cardiology. It will be a unit with rooms for intensive care and pediatrics.

He reiterated that the unit will also have a day hospital with outpatient services, a central block with four rooms, an obstetrics center, an emergency room with a surgical area, two endoscopy rooms, a hemodialysis room with two positions, among others. compartments.

The province of Lunda Norte, with almost one million inhabitants, results from the division of the former province of Lunda, on July 4, 1978. It is located in the east of the country and comprises the municipalities of Chitato (political and economic capital), Cambulo , Caungula, Cuilo, Cuango, Capenda Camulemba, Lucapa, Lubalo, Lóvua and Xá-Muteba.
