PR reaffirms commitment to improving the lives of Angolans

Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, expressed this Wednesday the Executive’s commitment to improving the lives of Angolans and to greater investment in the Education and Health sectors.

In a message addressed to the Nation, for the New Year, the Angolan Head of State states that, within the framework of this strategy, priority is given to the most vulnerable in society.

In this context, he particularizes children, the elderly, the sick and the poorest, stating that it is to this fringe that he directs, “first of all, the wishes that they may find the solidarity of their neighbors and society in general”.

President João Lourenço also expresses appreciation to all those who put their duties above personal interests and who guarantee the collective security of people and goods.

Our solidarity, he continues, goes equally to all those who are bedridden in hospital beds or at home, and those who are serving sentences for committing crimes, hoping that one day they can return to society.

He states that the world is experiencing a moment of unprecedented uncertainty in the history of the last 70 years, so that the year 2023 appears “of great challenges for our country as well”.

According to the presidential message, this scenario “will require from each one of us more dedication to work, more unity of action to counteract the negative trend of the world economy”.

João Lourenço says he believes that, with work, realism and optimism, the country will be able to overcome, without major upheavals, the difficult moment the world is experiencing.

“It is with a renewed sense of hope and belief in the future that I wish all Angolans residing in the country and in the diaspora a festive season in peace, harmony and well-being”, he says.

João Lourenço considers the Festive Court as a time to strengthen family ties and friendship, to reflect on the achievements and challenges ahead and to assess the contribution to the economic and social development of the country.

According to the President, in the year just ended, all these issues were highlighted and “we had the opportunity to democratically opt for the continuity of a Nation project”, which has earned the confidence of Angolans and the international community.

“I believe that together we can continue to consolidate the Democratic State of Law and build an inclusive society, of free expression, with equal rights and opportunities, of justice and social solidarity”, says João Lourenço.

“It is by reiterating my belief in a better future that I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”, ends the presidential message.
