Africa-Press – Angola. Improving the classification of the last edition and being among the top twenty is the goal of the Bengo delegation in the 66th edition of the São Silvestre pedestrian race, which will take place on December 31st.

In the last edition, the representation of the province ranked thirty-fourth.

This year Bengo will participate with five individual athletes (three male and two female), representing the teams from Mandjelsport, Samba FC and Domant FC.

The president of the Provincial Athletics Association of Bengo, Domingos Ngueve Caxiala, pointed out as the main difficulties the lack of funds to transport the athletes who are in the municipalities of Pango Aluquém and Nambuangongo, food and accommodation.

The payment of the registration of the athletes (2,500 Kwanzas each) is assured, he said.

Bengo’s entourage is made up of five athletes, a coach, the secretary and the President of the Association.

The group leaves on Friday (30th) for Luanda.
