Africa-Press – Angola. The Cuanza Norte government reiterated, this Tuesday, in Ndalatando, its commitment to improving the living conditions of former combatants and veterans of the homeland in the province.

In a statement sent to press, on the occasion of the 4th of January – Day of the Martyrs of the Colonial Repression, to be marked on Wednesday, he underlines that he will also bet on the valorization of historical figures of the region.

He considers that the date is of immeasurable significance for the country’s history, and one of the “most important milestones in the awakening of the patriotic and nationalist consciousness of Angolans”, which culminated in National independence, on 11 November 1975.

According to the document, the best tribute that society can pay to the heroes of Baixa de Cassanje is the transformation of agricultural fields into an engine of economic growth, for the well-being of families.

Urges society to reinforce the civic and patriotic education of the new generations, in order to promote respect for the values ​​and traditions of the Angolan people.

In Cuanza Norte, the date will be marked with the laying of a wreath on the tomb of an unknown soldier, followed by a political act at Cine Ndalatando, with the participation of civil servants, students and the general population.
