Africa-Press – Angola. The issuance of Identity Card (BI) in the municipality of Londuimbali, Huambo province, has been paralyzed for five months due to the theft of cameras at the local office.
These are three cameras that were used to collect images of citizens who went to the Civil and Criminal Identification service station in the locality to issue the ID.
The head of Civil and Criminal Identification services in the municipality of Londuimbali, Francisco Calvino, who provided the information to the press, said that the theft, which took place on August 3, 2022, prevented the issuance of this important document that confers Angolan citizenship.
Due to what happened, he said that since last August, the local department has only issued the criminal record and delivered the ID to citizens who issued it before the occurrence.
Francisco Calvino referred that the situation is in the domain of the authorities, both governmental and police, including the National Directorate of Registries, for the replacement of equipment.
In view of this situation, he said, citizens are obliged to issue an Identity Card in the municipalities of Bailundo and Huambo.
In turn, the head of the Civil and Criminal Identification Division of the Justice and Human Rights Delegation of the province of Humans in Huambo, Hélder Paulo, told that the vandalism lacks equipment and, so far, lacks clarification from the Police. National.
He informed that the replacement of cameras has already been requested from the National Directorate of Registries, which is working on their replacement.
He said that, in addition to the municipality of Londuimbali, some equipment was also robbed in the identification offices of Bailundo, Caála and Ecunha, which are working with some constraints, mainly, in issuing the ID.
The municipal village of Londuimbali is located 97 kilometers northwest of the city of Huambo.
