Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, reaffirmed, this Friday, the continued commitment of the sector to the implementation of the country’s foreign policy.
At the New Year’s greetings ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the head of Angolan diplomacy said that the bet was aimed at attracting more investment to the country.
Minister Téte António said that this was foreign investment, within the framework of economic diplomacy, a priority agenda of President João Lourenço’s mandate.
As for the actions carried out in 2022, he highlighted the holding of different joint commissions and political consultations which, in his view, contributed to strengthening cooperation and expanding areas of common interest.
According to the minister, the referred actions have been contributing to the affirmation of Angola in the concrete of the nations, adding that in this field the indicators were positive.
He recalled that the year 2022 was marked by intense diplomatic activity at the bilateral and multilateral level, led by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
Within the framework of this action, continued the minister, Angola saw his role reinforced as an “inescapable actor” in Africa, but also to open “new horizons of cooperation” with partners in Africa, Asia, America and Europe.
Téte António also highlighted the participation of the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, in mediating the political tension between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
Still in terms of the African continent, the minister said that, at the proposal of Angola, the African Union held, last May, the 16th Extraordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government.
This is the conference dedicated to terrorism and unconstitutional regime changes in Africa, held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
