Africa-Press – Angola. The Government of the Province of Uíge will focus, this year, on the recovery of sports infrastructures, as well as on the construction of new facilities for the development of the practice of various sports.

The challenge was launched Friday, by the provincial governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, during the fraternization act with the national wheelchair basketball champions, African Judo champions, the third place in the 66th edition of São Silvestre de Luanda and several sports leaders.

The official reasoned that the recovery and construction of sports infrastructures could facilitate and develop the practice of sports in various communities in the province of Uíge.

Being a region with many talents in different sports, it asked for greater unity between the different sports associations in the province, a measure that will leverage sport in this part of the national territory.

Regarding the national wheelchair basketball champions, the official congratulated the players and technical team of Misto do Uíge for winning the second national wheelchair basketball tournament. He also congratulated the African Judo champions, in the 81 and 51 kilograms categories, the third place in the 66th edition of São Silvestre de Luanda and various sports leaders in the region.

The province of Uíge, which in the coming years will be able to count on a new football stadium, has the Estádio Municipal 4 de Janeiro, which hosts Girabola matches, it also has the fields of Futebol Clube do Uíge, Sporting do Negage, Benfica and airport, as well as the sports halls of Futebol Clube do Uíge and Catapa, all in need of rehabilitation.
