Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and France signed, this Friday, at the Palace of Versailles, in Paris, a cooperation agreement in the Cultural domain.
According to a press released, the agreement that establishes the framework for cultural cooperation between the two countries for a period of five years was signed between the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Environment, Filipe Zau, and its French counterpart, Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin.
The document emphasizes that the agreement covers several areas, namely heritage, artistic creation, cultural and creative industries, as well as encourages the various actors concerned to develop cooperation programs and exchange of experts and good practices.
The ministerial departments also signed a deed of donation from Angola to France of two masterpieces of French sculpture from the 18th century, Zephir, Flore et Amour, by Philippe Bertrand, René Frémin and Jacques Bousseau and L’Abondance by Lambert Sigisbert Adam , commissioned respectively by Kings Louis XIV and Louis XV.
This generous act by Angola attests to the excellence of bilateral relations, which marks the first act of a program of heritage cooperation actions organized from 2022.
“The two sculptures join the collections of the National Museum of the Palaces of Versailles and Trianon and will be presented from the 5th of February until the 5th of June 2022 in an exhibition entitled “Found Masterpieces”, the statement concludes.
