Africa-Press – Angola. The ties of friendship and cooperation between Angola and China will be strengthened, with the visit, this Thursday, to the country of the Chinese minister of Foreign Affairs, Qin Gang.

The ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Angola, Gong Tao, who provided the information, said that the diplomat’s visit to the country is synonymous with the excellent relationship and good diplomatic tradition between the two States.

The Chinese official who was speaking this Wednesday in Luanda, at the opening ceremony of the fortieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between China-Angola, said that the minister will start, on Thursday (12), his first visit to the country, in scope of the strengthening of bilateral relations and on its tour of Africa.

The Ambassador explained that visits to Africa by newly appointed heads of diplomacy is a tradition that has lasted for over 33 years in China, a way of giving prestige to the continent.

“This shows that China attaches great importance to traditional friendship with Africa and the development of China-Africa relations,” he said.

On the other hand, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, considered the relations fruitful and the fact that Qin Gang chose Angola as his first destination, as part of his tour of Africa, as well as reflecting the strong bonds of existing friendship. .

According to the official, the visit of the minister could expand new areas of negotiations, due to the challenges and constant changes in the world.

Angola and China established diplomatic relations on January 12, 1983, opening a new chapter in the history of traditional friendship between the countries.

In these 40 years, regardless of changes in international and internal situations, China and Angola have always been united in mutual assistance and achieved important results in exchange and cooperation in various fields, setting several examples in terms of cooperation.

Qin Gang was appointed the twelfth Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

The event, which brought together Angolan and foreign politicians, was enlivened with lion/drum dancing, Chinese in the lights, Sichuan opera, recitation of Havemos de Voltar poems, fashion show in Chinese and Angolan dress.
