Africa-Press – Angola. Sixty new direct and indirect jobs were created with the inauguration, this Thursday, of the twenty-fourth Optical Centre, located in Camama, in the municipality of Talatona, in Luanda.

The employees hired, mostly young people, will work in the administrative areas, diagnostics, as clerks, drivers, cleaners and other activities.

The store’s composition cost more than 300 million kwanzas and consists of two offices for optometry and ophthalmology consultations with the capacity to serve a considerable number of people.

According to the manager of the Centro-Optico, Amyn Habib, the company’s strategy is to expand services, throughout this year, to the provinces of Cuanza-Sul, Namibe, Bié and Cunene, with the aim of bringing services closer to interested parties. , as well as ensuring training for youth.

He informed that at the moment, the center has a promotional package consisting of quick optometry consultations and the sale of glasses at the price of 17 to 59 thousand 900 kwanzas respectively.

Amyn Habid said that it is necessary to invest in visual health, in the training of technicians, due to the lack of higher education in the area.

In turn, the Secretary of State for Commerce, Amadeu Nunes, praised the perspective of the optical group, in responding to consumer concerns and employment for young people.

“Today, proximity stores represent an unavoidable brand in the distribution and retail sector, with a presence in the national territory, fulfilling the mission of guaranteeing assistance”, he said.

The optical center has existed in the country since May 2014 and has already employed more than 400 young people.
