Jocobeth Inocência Longue is the new provincial president of the Angolan Women’s League (LIMA), in Cuanza-Sul, replacing Cristina Margarida Mateus, who has been in office for the last five years. She was sworn in, in Sumbe, by the National Vice-President of the women’s “arm” of UNITA, Sandra Teresa Kakinda.
He swore to defend and respect the values, principles and to enforce the party’s objectives, assume the political identity, promote UNITA’s strengths and ideals, as well as guarantee the safeguarding of the statutes and programs.
The new provincial president of the Angolan Women’s League, in Cuanza-Sul, pointed out as lines of force to comply with UNITA’s strategy, highlighting the priority in the work of the bases and masses at the level of municipalities, communes, villages and neighborhoods.
Another bet pointed out Friday by Jocobeth Longue is the mobilization of women to register, if they have changed residence and neighborhood in order to register with the BUAP, “because only then will they be able to vote in the elections of the this year.” It will also fight domestic violence against women and children, as well as mobilize citizens to show solidarity with others.
LIMA’s National Vice President for Political Affairs, Sandra Teresa Kakinda, reminded the activists , friends and supporters of UNITA that the country is preparing for another election, an important fact to give Angolans the opportunity to freely and consciously choose the next party and President of the Republic through their vote.
UNITA’s provincial secretary, Armando Manuel Kaquepa, who witnessed the inauguration, promised the party’s support and encouraged Longue to remain firm in his actions, a factor that will require listening more and showing respect, building relationships, increasing knowledge, generating new ideas and guarantee loyalty among the militants.
