Africa-Press – Angola. More than 60 billion kwanzas could be invested this year by the Government of the Province of Zaire in the construction and rehabilitation of social infrastructures in all municipalities.
The information was provided this Thursday, to the press, in Mbanza Kongo, by the provincial governor, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, stressing that the budget allocated to the region for the current financial year exceeds that of previous years, which did not exceed 18 billion kwanzas.
According to the minister, among the actions to be carried out, highlights include the start of construction work on a centrality in the city of Mbanza Kongo, the construction of higher polytechnic institutes and the conclusion of work on the General Hospital of Zaire.
It is also planned to rehabilitate the Mbanza Kongo/Cuimba road, over a length of 62 kilometres, as well as the construction of systems for capturing, treating and distributing drinking water in some districts.
“The budget allocated this year for the province of Zaire encourages us, as it will overcome many difficulties that our population still faces”, he said, asking the population to continue collaborating with the authorities for the materialization of these and other impact actions. social and economic.
On the occasion, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho launched a challenge to the national business class to invest in the province, taking advantage of the potential that the region offers in the most varied domains.
He also spoke of the need to install processing factories in the region in order to take advantage of the large quantities of field products that are produced annually in the province.
He reiterated that the Angolan Government remains engaged in the construction and rehabilitation of structural projects all over the country to, gradually, improve the life of the population.
Meanwhile, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho regretted the acts of vandalism of some public assets that are perpetrated by unknown individuals in the region.
According to the governor, such acts jeopardize government action and delay social growth in the region.
