Africa-Press – Angola. Five thousand 680 kilograms of spoiled fish were incinerated this Monday, in the municipality of Uíge, by the local National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA).

Seized at the end of January this year, in the “Mercado do Beco”, in the city of Uíge, the 284 boxes of sardines and horse mackerel were being sold for between 1,800 and 15,000 Kwanzas each, contrary to the prices of nine and 29 thousand Kwanzas practiced previously.

Speaking to the press, the municipal director of ANIESA in Uíge, José Bengui, explained that boxes of frozen fish in poor condition were found in two cold rooms.

Due to what happened, fines of over one million Kwanzas were applied to the two companies that were selling fish in a poor state of conservation.

The National Police (PN), Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Public Health, Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA) were involved in the process of apprehending the product.
