Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda was partnered in the Nilo conference of the third edition of the African Basketball League (BAL), to be played from 26 April to 6 May.
According to the draw, which took place this Monday, the Angolan champion will evolve in the Nilo conference, based in the city of Cairo (Egypt).
This is the second consecutive time that the draw places the Angolans in that conference.
The oil companies, runners-up in the competition, face the hosts of Al Haly from Egypt, City Oilers (Uganda), Cape Town Tigers (South Africa), Ferroviário da Beira (Mozambique) and Slac (Guinea).
In the Sahara conference, taking place in Dakar (Senegal) from 11 to 21 May, there will be teams Abidjan BC – (Côte d’Ivoire), Kwara Falons – (Nigeria), Stade Malien – (Mali), AS Douanes – (Senegal) , REG – (Rwanda) and US Monastir – (Tunisia)
For the final phase, the first four teams from each conference qualify.
In the first edition, in 2021, the tricolors came in third place by beating the Patriots of Rwanda by 97-68 in the qualifiers.
In 2022, Petro lost in the final to US Monastir, 72-83.WR/MC
