Africa-Press – Angola. The basic conditions for the development of the National Hydrogen Strategy in the country dominated the approach, in Luanda, between the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, and the German ambassador accredited to Angola, Stefan Traumann.
According to a press release today, the topic has been addressed since mid-2021, in various dialogue initiatives between Angola and Germany, focused on the Energy Transition and also the opportunities that green hydrogen can offer the country.
The document says that, on the occasion, minister João Baptista Borges, referred that hydrogen is the fuel of the future, stressing that, from this fuel, green ammonium, important for soil fertilization, can be obtained.
The report indicates that there will be, in the middle of this year, a conference where Angola wants to present the main strategic lines for hydrogen, and it is necessary, in this time period, to have this strategy well defined, with well-established objectives.
The Delegate for the German Economy in Angola, Vandré Spellmeier, highlighted the partnership established between Sonangol and the German consortium Gauff Engineering / Conjuncta, to develop the first green hydrogen plant in Angola.
In addition to the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, and the German ambassador accredited to Angola, Stefan Traumann, the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Barroso, participated in the meeting, representing the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, among other guests.
