Africa-Press – Angola. Sixteen groups from the children’s class will open the 2023 edition of Carnaval de Luanda, marking the return of the parade at Mova Marginal three years later, due to the constraints of Covid-19.

Of the groups, 13 will dance semba, with Kazukuta and Cabecinha being other styles to be demonstrated by the foliozinhos.

In Nova Marginal, everything is set to welcome the demonstrators of Angolan culture. Four bleachers are set up on site to seat 2,600 people on each of the three days of the parade, which will have free access on the first day (in the class B parade the price will be 700 kwanzas and in class A 1,000 kwanzas) .

Until Monday (20) 45 groups are expected on the asphalt of the marginal, 16 from the children’s class, 13 from class A and 15 from class B.

With regard to prizes, the first classified in class A will receive five million kwanzas, the second three million, the third two million, the fourth one million 500 thousand and one million for the fifth place.

In class B, the first classified will receive three million kwanzas, the second two million, the third one million, the fourth 750 thousand and the fifth 500 thousand.

In the children’s class, the first place will be awarded with two million kwanzas, the second with one million, the third with 750 thousand, the fourth with 500 thousand and the fifth with 300 thousand kwanzas.

For this year, class A groups received support in the order of two million Kwanzas, one million 300 thousand Kwanzas for class B and 750 thousand Kwanzas for children’s groups

The holder of the title in the children’s class is Cassules Viveiros do Nginga M’bandi, while in class A, União Mundo da Ilha, the bogeyman of trophies, holds the title.
