Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, carried out, this Saturday, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, intense diplomatic activity, focusing on efforts in favor of peace and bilateral inter-State relations.

On his initiative, the Angolan statesman worked with the Presidents of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archanje Touadéra, of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chad, who represented his Head of State, Mahamat Déby Itno.

The situation of security and peace in the Central African Republic was the subject of this quadripartite mini-summit in Addis Ababa, which followed another, three-party, recently held in the country’s capital, Luanda.

The Angolan Head of State also held other diplomatic meetings with different personalities who are circumstantially in the Ethiopian capital, also taking part in the African Union Summit.

João Lourenço met with his Zambian counterparts, Hakainde Hichilema; Ali Bongo, from Gabon; Emmerson Mnangagwa, from Zimbabwe and Charles Michel, President of the European Council and António Costa, Portuguese Prime Minister.

The President of the Republic is in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital, where he is taking part in the 36th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
