Cairo: Embassy of Angola distinguished for support to Business Mission

Africa-Press – Angola. The Embassy of Angola in the Arab Republic of Egypt was distinguished, Saturday, with the “Award of Excellence in Engineering Exports from Egypt”, for the support given to the Egyptian business mission that traveled to Luanda in June last year.

In a ceremony held at the Abdeen Palace (formerly the Palace of King Farouk), in the city of Cairo, the Angolan ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Nelson Cosme, received a diploma of merit from the president of the Export Council of Egypt, Sherif El Sayyd and thanks.

It should be noted that a delegation of Egyptian businessmen and investors visited the country from 20 to 25 June 2022, to assess investment opportunities, mainly in the areas of industries and equipment, and transport.

The business initiative followed the Angola-Egypt investment round table, held in March of the same year, during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, which resulted in the production of a report on engineering exports from Egypt to the country.

In Luanda, a Business Forum was held, during which the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Communities, Domingos Vieira Lopes, stated that, in cooperation with Egypt, Angola “intends to take advantage of the strong potential of industrial engineering, with emphasis on household appliances, automotive components and electrical industries only in 2021.
