Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Angolan Athletics Federation (FAA), Bernardo João, defended this Sunday, in Dundo, northern Lunda Norte province, the construction of a sports venue with a synthetic track, to develop human potential.

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the working visit he has been making to Lunda Norte since Saturday, Bernardo João underlined that the lack of a sports venue for the practice of athletics, conditions the evolution of Angolan athletes.

“Athletics at the country level is not doing well, because it is the only sport that does not have a competition venue with a synthetic track, a situation already under the control of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which has shown a willingness to solve the problem”, he stressed. .

He added that in terms of the PALOP’s, Angola is the only country that does not have a synthetic track.

In order to give competitive rhythm to high competition Angolan athletes, the Federation is working with their counterparts from Namibia, South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique, so that they can compete in the competitions of these countries.

Bernardo João will work until Tuesday in Lunda Norte province, where he will hold meetings with local leaders, athletes, provincial government, potential sponsors and visit some sports facilities.
