Africa-Press – Angola. Twelve carnival groups compete for the podium in the provincial parade, in Menongue, Cuando Cubango, to take place this Tuesday, in Largo da Banca.
Of the 12 groups, six are adults and an equal number of children, from carnival groups in the municipalities of Menongue, Cuchi and Cuito Cuanavale.
According to the director of the Provincial Office for Culture, Tourism and Youth and Sports, Paulo Vissunjo, due to the poor condition of the roads many groups will not participate in the central parade.
Without advancing the value of the prizes to be awarded to the best classifieds, Paulo Vissunjo said that for this 2023 Edition there will be “surprises”, according to the values provided by the Ministry of Culture and the local Government.
For the event, in Largo da Banca, various products and clothing are being displayed that characterize the culture of the three municipalities of this province, as well as photographs and books from previous exhibitions.
The administrator of the municipality of Cuito Cunavale, Daniel Mbimbi, said that of the eight groups that participated in the municipal parade, “23 de Março”, “Born to shine” and “Niar” from classes “A” and “B”, will compete to the podium.
