Africa-Press – Angola. Seven hundred boxes of marionga fish, seized in a fresh sale warehouse in the city of Malanje, were incinerated Saturday, by the Municipal Directorate of the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety of Malanje (ANIESA), for being deteriorated.

The action, carried out in coordination with the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), falls within the scope of ordinary inspections by ANIESA, according to its director, Jerónimo Martins.

Without advancing the amount of the fine applied, the official said that the company in question had losses estimated at three million and 500 thousand kwanzas.

The director called for greater attention from consumers when buying goods, especially perishables, as well as denouncing practices by traders that put public health at risk.

The National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA) results from the merger of sectoral inspection services for Industry, Commerce, Tourism, Environment, Transport, Health, Agriculture and Fisheries.

Its mission is to supervise commercial activity and the provision of mercantile services, catering and beverage establishments, nightclubs and bars, hairdressers, beauty centres, warehouses, canteens and canteens, entertainment and show venues, games and recreational spaces.

ANIESA is also responsible for inspecting the places where any commercial activity is carried out, namely finished products, in addition to supervising compliance with the legal duties or obligations of economic agents, among other tasks.
