Africa-Press – Angola. The commander of the Northern Military Region, Lieutenant General Dinis Segunda Lucama, today, Thursday, instructed the staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) to reinforce measures of defence, protection and maintenance of the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC).

The province of Uíge shares a land border of 442 kilometers with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Dinis Segunda Lucama, who was speaking at the opening of the 14th annual review meeting of the North Military Region, said that the North Military Region has a vast border with the DRC, for that reason, “there must be greater responsibility in the defense, protection and maintenance of the area frontier”.

The general officer also defended the need to reflect on the social situation of FAA personnel, infrastructure and weapons – pillars without which one cannot speak of a military unit.

During his intervention, Lieutenant General Dinis Kukama also recalled the need for permanent preparation of the troops, in the field of military art in times of peace.

The chiefs of weapons and service, division and brigade commanders participate in the meeting.

The meeting will analyze the state of armament and technique, logistical and medical security, troop discipline, analysis of the state of criminality in units and subunits, infrastructure and a retrospective of the national and international geopolitical situation.
