Africa-Press – Angola. The operator of the digital payment market, NowNow, recently established a partnership with Mastercard with the aim of reducing the risk of cyber attacks, mainly in the electronic money transaction sector.
In a note to which press had access, the company advances that the idea is to increase the security levels of users who carry out electronic monetary transactions in the Angolan context.
“The partnership between Mastercard and NowNow comes in a context of significant increase in cybercrime not only in Angola, but worldwide, with serious consequences for individuals, families, institutions and states”, reads in the note.
According to the institution, with this partnership, it tries to protect Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), by carrying out regular tests of penetration of web applications.
“These tests seek to ensure that SME applications are not vulnerable to any cyber threat”, he asserted.
The company added that it had made this service available in Nigeria and Angola, with the prospect of expanding to other markets.
NowNow is the only African start-up to participate in the latest Global Mastercard Start Path Program. The program is designed to help late-stage startups innovate and scale.
To this end, it received operational support, commercial engagement and the program’s strategic investment opportunity.
“We are excited to partner with the Mastercard Trust Center to help our customers improve the security of their cyber ecosystem and better protect themselves against cybercriminals,” said NowNow CEO Sahir Berry.
