Africa-Press – Angola. The second commander of the National Police (PN) for Public Order, in Lunda Sul, Manuel Lopes, demanded greater discipline and rigor from the staff in the region, in order to respond quickly to the concerns about security presented by the communities.

The demand was made by the PN officer at the provincial act of commemorating the National Police day, marked Tuesday (28), in the city of Saurimo.

Manuel Lopes highlighted the importance that each member plays in the body, having asked for more collaboration, responsibility and insight in doing good.

He underlined the need to modernize the PN services, as a result of the dynamics of the current context, so that it can provide quality public services and bring citizens closer and closer.

On the occasion, the official patented 88 National Police (PN) personnel promoted to the ranks of senior officers, subordinates and sub-chiefs.

As for the PN Day celebrations in Lunda Sul, they were marked with blood donations, lectures, visits to various State bodies and sports activities.

The National Police in Lunda Sul recorded a total of 2,93 crimes in 2022, against 56 in 2021, according to Manuel Lopes, the criminal situation in the region is calm, despite some isolated crimes.

On February 28, 1976, the Angolan Police Corps (CPPA) was created, which, from 1976 to 1993, underwent several transformations, until it became the National Police of Angola (PNA), through decree 20/ 93, of 11 July, which approved the new organic status.
