Traditional authorities in Quela defend the intervention of intercity sections

Africa-Press – Angola. The improvement of the intermunicipal sections was pointed out Wednesday (1), by the traditional authorities of the municipality of Quela, as a priority action to attract staff and boost the region’s development.

Currently, only Sede and Xandel are passable, while the others (Missão dos Bângalas and Moma) have sections in an advanced state of degradation.

This concern was raised by the coordinator of the Quela authorities, Bartolomeu Armando “Regedor Kitubico”, during a meeting between the traditional leaders and the provincial governor of Malanje, Marcos Nhunga.

Another concern, according to mayor Kitubico, is related to the construction of more health units to improve the population’s medical assistance, as well as the reinforcement of the number of teachers, at a time when there are places without classes due to lack of teachers.

He made it known that some teachers recently admitted to the sector’s public tender did not settle in the communes due to lack of social conditions.

Agriculture is another area for which greater attention has been requested, with a view to its revitalization, through the acquisition of machinery for the expansion of cultivation areas.

“Due to the lack of machinery, agriculture in Quela has become a subsistence practice”, he added.

The governor of Malanje, Marcos Nhunga, has been working since Wednesday in the municipality of Quela, where he is carrying out a working day as part of the tour he has been doing in the municipalities, to assess their socio-economic reality.

With four communes, namely Sede, Xandel, Moma and Missão dos Bângalas, the municipality of Quela is 115 kilometers from the city of Malanje and has an estimated population of 21,314.
