Africa-Press – Angola. The director of the Office for Social Action, Family and Gender Equality in Cunene province, Georgina Braga, on Wednesday warned women to continue to empower themselves in various areas, in order to contribute to economic growth .
Speaking at the opening of the “Março Mulher” event, he said that the celebrations take place at a time when reflections are based on the empowerment of women through the promotion of their capacities.
He said that the focus should be on those occupations traditionally carried out by men, thus reducing inequalities.
He considered investing in women’s empowerment a vital factor in improving economic and social conditions in developing countries.
Georgina Braga also highlighted the role of women in the political, social and economic development of the country, occupying, on their own merit, various positions and positions, in a demonstration of their competence and dedication in solving the nation’s problems.
“In Angola, women have always demonstrated their commitment and spirit of courage to face diversity, since the beginning of the struggle for Independence, the conquest of peace and in the process of national reconciliation.
Under the motto “Women’s active participation in information technologies towards social prosperity”, the March-Women day intends to praise female leadership in the fight against various forms of discrimination, through their economic empowerment.
