Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cuanza Sul province, Job Capapinha, this Thursday, in the city of Sumbe, praised the role played by Angolan women in the country’s economic and social development.
In a message alluding to the 2nd of March, Angolan Women’s Day, Job Capapinha highlights the perseverance of Angolan women, particularly in Cuanza Sul, in the pursuit of material satisfaction for the family and in the struggle to achieve gender equality in the current context.
“The Government recognizes the preponderant role of women in society, whether as a mother, wife, sister, friend and companion, especially from the perspective of their inclusion in the most varied areas of life, as they continue to be at the forefront and at the center of work, at home, in maternity, in education, in health and in all areas of society”, stresses the note.
In the missive, the official reaffirms the Executive’s position in the implementation of actions with a view to guaranteeing greater dignity to women in the province of Cuanza Sul and their empowerment.
“I congratulate, on behalf of myself and that of the provincial government, all Angolan women, in particular from the province of Cuanza Sul, hoping that the date will serve for a profound reflection on the past, present and future, together for a better life”, reads in the message.
On March 2, Angolan Women’s Day is celebrated, in recognition of their role in the resistance struggle of the Angolan people against colonial occupation.
