Africa-Press – Angola. The winger Emanuel Quezada may be presented, in the coming days, as an athlete of the senior men’s basketball team of Interclube.
According to a source from the community, the dual nationality player (Dominican and North American) is negotiating a contract until the end of this season, four years after he left 1.o de Agosto.
Arriving in Angola via Petro de Luanda in 2015, for two consecutive years Quezada won, in 2015, the National Championship and the African Cup of Champion Clubs. At the time, he was considered the most valuable player (MVP) of the continental competition.
The 37-year-old is notable for his strong outside play and distribution of plays, in addition to his high percentage of free throws.
Interclube, coached by Carlos Diniz, also has the North American Xavier Gibson, who already works with the team.
The 34-year-old pole, 2.11 meters tall and weighing 104 kg, will compete in the position with Valdelício Joaquim and Josiney Joaquim.
He comes from the Mexican league, where he played for the Agua Prieta team.
Gibson, who participated in the NBA Draft in 2012, has an average of 24 points per game and is from Bahrain (a country that comprises more than 30 islands in the Persian Gulf).
As well as the final stage of the National Championship, Interclube will also compete in the Angola Cup, a competition in which it lost in the final to Petro de Luanda in the last two seasons.
