Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of the President of the Republic for the Social Area, Fátima Viegas, highlighted, this Monday, in Luena (Moxico), the engagement of churches in the implementation of the community kitchens project, an initiative of the Executive that aims to minimize the needs of families vulnerable.

Speaking to the press, after a meeting with the vice-governors of the province, Wilson Agnelo and Vítor da Silva, he said that religious institutions have shown willingness to collaborate and form a partnership with the Executive for the success of the aforementioned assistance project.

He added that these institutions are aware of the difficulties that families face, maintaining that community kitchens is a project that came to be able to meet the needs of the most vulnerable people.

In this sense, he said that in this pilot phase, which covers five provinces of the country, children, orphans, widows, people with disabilities, the elderly and needy families are being identified, who will be considered, as a priority, adding that the project will extend into in different locations where there are people in need.

The official called for the involvement of all institutions so that the project moves forward and is implemented in a rational way.

The community kitchens project is a presidential initiative, and in the embryonic phase it will cover five provinces in the country, namely Namibe, Huila, Cuando Cubango, Cunene and Moxico, where feasibility studies are already underway with a view to its implementation.
