Africa-Press – Angola. The population of the municipality of Namacunde, northern Cunene province, has, since this Friday, an Integrated Social Action Center (CASI), inaugurated by the Deputy Governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector Apolo Ndinoulenga.
Fully equipped, the construction of the infrastructure was financed by the World Bank in the amount of 103 million 816 thousand 658 kwanzas, whose execution was in charge of the Local Development Institute (FAS).
The center has a meeting room, five offices, reception, dining room, storage room, four toilets, an accompanying room and a porch.
On the occasion, two three-wheel motorcycles were delivered to streamline the transport of users from rural areas to CASI.
The head of the FAS Department in Cunene, Eduardo Chilunda, said that the structure emerged within the framework of compliance with the program to strengthen social protection, called “Kwenda”, whose objective is to bring social services closer to citizens.
According to the official, the project aims to create a new model of decentralized basic social protection, in which the gateway will be the Integrated Social Action Center (CASI).
In these centres, he argued, cases of people in situations of social vulnerability will be registered and monitored, facilitating their access to basic services, projects and public social assistance programs already made available by the State, such as health, education, registration and justice.
For his part, deputy governor Apolo Ndinoulenga, highlighted the importance of the structure that will guarantee the accessibility of services to vulnerable communities.
